Connect Magento to NitroMule

Updated 2026-09-15

On this page

Connect Magento 2 / Adobe Commerce with a store URL and Integration Access Token so awaiting-shipment physical orders import into NitroMule. Rate shop, buy labels from the order, and push tracking + carrier + service back as a Magento shipment — the same core loop and connection options as ShipStation’s Magento store.

Note

ShipStation uses an Auctane Magento plugin key. NitroMule uses the native Magento REST Integration token for the same import and fulfill outcomes.

Requirements

  • A NitroMule account on a plan that includes store connections (Business)
  • Magento 2 / Adobe Commerce with REST API enabled
  • An Integration with Sales Orders and Shipments access (add Invoices if you enable Invoice after shipping)
  • A default ship-from address in NitroMule

Status mapping (ShipStation-aligned)

Magento (default) NitroMule
processing (and any statuses you list) Incomplete
complete / canceled / closed Always skipped
Virtual / downloadable only Skipped
Local pickup Skipped (optional import)

ShipStation’s Magento window lets you map custom statuses into Awaiting Shipment. In NitroMule, set Awaiting shipment statuses to a comma-separated list (default processing).

Connection settings

Setting What it does
Awaiting shipment statuses Which Magento statuses sync into Incomplete
Product weight units Magento lb or kg → NitroMule package weight in pounds
Warehouse location attribute Optional product attribute code copied onto line items
Import pick-up orders Off by default
Enable partial shipping Each label ships one unit per remaining line item
Invoice after shipping Creates a Magento invoice after the shipment
Email customer when fulfilled Magento shipment email on by default

What imports

  • Physical products (configurable children, not composite parents)
  • Product options, warehouse attribute (when configured)
  • Shipping method, payment method, coupon, PO, gift message, customer notes
  • Customer email and ship-to address

Connect

  1. Open Stores in NitroMule → MagentoConnect.
  2. Paste store URL and Integration Access Token, then Connect.
  3. Adjust ShipStation-parity settings, then Save settings.
  4. Select Sync (or open Orders — NitroMule auto-syncs if the last sync was more than a few minutes ago).

Features

Feature What it does
Order import Pulls awaiting-shipment physical orders into Incomplete
Import window First sync looks back ~30 days; later syncs use last sync time
Auto-sync When you open Orders, syncs if the last sync is older than about 3 minutes
Tracking write-back Creates Magento shipment with tracking, carrier, and service
Invoice after ship Optional Magento invoice create
Customer email Magento shipment email on by default
Important

Create labels from the imported order, not as a one-off Get Label shipment, so tracking can write back to Magento.

Troubleshooting

  • Connect disabled / Coming Soon: Production needs NM_MAGENTO_STORES_ENABLED=1.
  • No orders after Sync: Confirm the Magento status is listed under Awaiting shipment statuses, physical, and not pickup (unless pickup import is on).
  • Tracking not in Magento: Open the order’s Magento details panel for any write-back error; tracking still exists in NitroMule. Ensure the Integration can create shipments (and invoices if that toggle is on).
