Connect Lightspeed Retail (R-Series) to NitroMule

Connect Lightspeed Retail (R-Series) so unshipped Ship To sales import into NitroMule. Rate shop carriers, buy labels from the order, and push tracking back into Lightspeed.
Requirements
- A NitroMule account on a plan that includes store connections (Business)
- A Lightspeed Retail (R-Series) account with admin access
- A default ship-from address in NitroMule
- Pop-ups allowed for nitromule.com (OAuth)
Note
This integration targets R-Series (Retail POS at cloud.lightspeedapp.com), not Lightspeed Retail (X-Series). Only fully paid sales with a Ship To address that are not yet marked shipped are imported.
Connect
- Open Stores in NitroMule.
- Choose Lightspeed Retail (R-Series) → Connect.
- Sign in to Lightspeed and approve access (customers, register, and workbench for work orders).
- When the window closes, confirm the card shows Connected.
- Select Sync (or open Orders — NitroMule auto-syncs if the last sync was more than a few minutes ago).
- If you connected before work orders were supported, disconnect and Connect again once so work-order permissions are granted.
Features
| Feature | What it does |
|---|---|
| Order import | Pulls unshipped, fully paid Ship To records into Incomplete |
| Order details | Payment method, discounts, internal notes, line SKUs, weights, options, warehouse location, item images when LightspeedR provides them |
| Auto-sync | When you open Orders, syncs if the last sync is older than about 3 minutes (or use Sync anytime) |
| Package defaults | Applies catalog package dims when a line matches a product; otherwise your default package box |
| Rate shop / labels | Same NitroMule label flow as other stores |
| Tracking write-back | Marks the Ship To shipped, writes tracking into the ship note, and adds a sale printed/internal note |
| Portal form export | Optionally create a LightspeedR work order from a portal form submission (Form builder → Integration) |
Important
Create labels from the imported order, not as a one-off Get Label shipment, so tracking can write back to Lightspeed.
Form submissions → work orders
- Connect Lightspeed under Stores (or use Connect on the form Integration card).
- Open a portal form in the form builder → Integration → enable Lightspeed.
- Map customer contact fields (email required) and optionally include all responses in the work-order note.
- New submissions create/find a Lightspeed customer and open a work order. Status appears on the form submission detail.
If export fails with a permissions error, reconnect Lightspeed so the app receives workbench access.
Troubleshooting
- Connect disabled: Server needs
LIGHTSPEEDR_CLIENT_ID/LIGHTSPEEDR_CLIENT_SECRET(and a matching Redirect URI registered with Lightspeed). - No orders after Sync: Create a sale in Lightspeed with a customer Ship To that is not yet shipped.
- Tracking not in Lightspeed: Open the order’s Lightspeed details panel. If write-back failed, the error is shown there; tracking still exists in NitroMule. You can buy another label path or Sync later after fixing permissions — NitroMule retries when
fulfillmentNotifiedAtis unset. - Disconnect: Use Disconnect on the Lightspeed card in the Import orders modal, then Connect again if needed.
